Writing: Immigrant Stories

Need: Stories are meant to teach us lessons, inspire insight, and bring hope for our future. Providing personal stories or stories that we find hidden in books is one of the ways we can curiosity and intrinsic motivation for our ELL students.

This is a writing lesson plan created for ESL students to share their stories and aspirations.

1. Students should be able to intergrate outside resources with appropriate citations MLA format.

2. Students should be able to compare and contrast their experiences from their home town to their experiences here in the US.

3. Students should be able to create an outline in a five paragraph format.

4. Students should be able to proofread, edit, and revise drafts.
