Here is an example from our September 2024 Level 4 Class at Internexus LA https://sites.google.com/internexusla.edu/session3level4/home
During my first semester in my TESOL Graduate program at Pepperdine University (Malibu, CA), Dr. Chen introduced to us how to implement google sites into the classroom. This type of format is a great way to cultivate a collaborative classroom environment (hybrid or in person). I found this type of structure to be beneficial as an instructor, since I was able to easily refer back to the assignments, and add any last minute details for my students. Additionally, the students are able to add information they think might be useful as well. For example, I have a section on the page dedicated to our daily ice breakers. I encouraged the students to participate and add their own thoughts, links, and videos. I believe this is a convenient and excellent method of building an inclusive environment for our ELL learners. I have witnessed improvements in classroom participation, and assignment completion, as well as observing student understanding and active effort of what is to be expected of them. By having the option to modify and use tech tools like Google Sites, I am able to implement new lesson plans conveniently, and add more structure to the classroom. The biggest benefit of using this tech tool in my classroom is my ability to encourage students to engage easily by providing a space for them to interact with the course material by adding any sources they might desire to supplement their understanding and participation including videos, and relevant article links.
